Yesterday we took a bus downtown and had lunch and coffee at McDonalds. We had only planned on getting coffee, but the fries smelled SO good we couldn't resist! We hung out on Sovietska street and walked through the park, there were only a few vendors out so we came home with most of our money. It was the first day in a while that the sun was shining so we decided to walk back to the apartment, I'm not sure how far it was, but when we got home I put my tennies on before we left for the baby house! Today we went back to Sovietska and had lunch, we're not sure what it was, but it was really good! Then we walked down to check out the open air market, it's kind of like a swap meet and farmers market all together, we had a good time and then we got a bus back home. No walkabouts today! my feet are still sore from yesterday!
This mornings visit with the kids was great! We finally got them to the playground and they had such a good time. It is hard for them to move sometimes because they are so bundled up, I can't wait to see them running around with only one layer on.

Looks like you had a lot of fun getting to be outside with them. Don't worry, they'll rarely ever have to be bundled up once you get them home. Take care of your feet and good luck Thursday at court!
ReplyDeleteLooks like thier having fun and getting to know you guys. How is the language going? The pictures are great, it looks like thrers a lot of history there. See you soon. Hey folks, looks like the kids are enjoying being with you a lot. Do you get to dress them or do the ladies at the Orphanige do that? Are their boyh men and women or just women who work there? I was surprised at how clean everything looks at the place and also how well dressed the children seem to be. They are dressed with nice and practical clothing for their weather conditions. We are looking forward to the trip and seeing you and the kids. Everything fine here. See you soon, love Mom and Dad.
ReplyDeleteso glad you guys are able to get out and walk!! good for you! so happy things are going well!

Hey woman, sounds like everything is going good! Good luck at court. What a dream come true! Enjoy your week. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that is a LONG walk from Sovietska back to the apartments! A good one though. When we were there it got so hot on the buses that we walked alot too just to get some fresh air!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad its nice enough to get out and check out the town. IT really is beautiful there.
There is a restaurant with an english menu, it has the bonaqua blue tents over the tables. The outside has outdoor seating and a big wooden door, and the inside of the building looks like old log, almost German. VERY good food and super reasonable. Its about halfway down Sovietska. Also Burger Club is down there, that has good burgers and its clean, english speaking workers.
Your kids are so adorable!! It looks like you are having so much fun with them. What a great adventure for you and jon! Take care. Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. It looks like the kids are really enjoying their time with you. Hope everything goes well on Thursday, we will keep our fingers crossed and be thinking about you. Was at your house again today, everything is fine.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Erica
They are just too cute! I haven't been following long, do you mind if I ask how old they are? I looked back in the archives but wasn't able to find anything. Just curious :o)
ReplyDeleteHey Shari, They are 3 and 2. Only 9 months apart! She is very easygoing for the most part, he is absolutely in the "terrible two's" stage ;). Are you adopting?
